Safety and Health ("S&H") programs developed and implemented by BCI produce results, as our projects have consistently generated accident statistics below the national average for construction—as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition, our safety expertise enables us to deliver cost, quality and schedule goals to our clients through better risk management and a safer workplace.
BCI places the highest priority on the well being of its employees and subcontractors during the execution of work. Accident prevention involves not only personal safety, but also many other factors affecting the progress and efficiency of a project, such as condition of equipment, materials storage, vehicle control and fire prevention. BCI’s goal is to provide comprehensive and pro-active solutions for incorporating safe operational methods and strong safety consciousness to our employees, supervisors, subcontractors and material suppliers.
The BCI Safety Committee—in conjunction with Senior Management—is responsible for developing and implementing the BCI S&H Program, and providing the most current and appropriate guidance and support to the Field Management team through company, project and facility S&H training and audit programs.
Additional safety measures include accident investigations; hazard analysis; labor/management S&H programs; OSHA Training; industrial hygiene surveys; drug-free workplace programs; and project insurance program administration.
BCI is committed to:
- Safe and efficient work execution;
- Maintenance of a safe work environment;
- The safety and welfare of all employees and the public.
BCI expects all employees and subcontractors to fulfill this commitment by striving to achieve a "100% accident free" performance each day based on four key elements:
- Management commitment and leadership;
- Employee commitment and participation;
- The belief that all accidents are preventable;
- Execution of prevention-based safety programs.
By continuously reviewing the performance of our projects in relation to our S&H program, we are able to make any changes necessary ensuring the S&H program remains effective throughout each phase of work performed; in addition to demonstrating continuous improvement.
Safety is a serious issue, and it’s never taken lightly by BCI.
